Being pregnant can be very difficult. I can not be pregnant,
but each of us has a mother who has gone through the same unbearable process to
be able to live and be part of the family. We basically owe our lives to the
effort and care our mothers have given us, whether we were still in their womb
or when we were children who went to school. One of the not-so-pleasant effects
of being pregnant is that the body changes drastically, and for some, the
appearance is unsightly. But that's fine because that's natural. Women should
not be pressured to be in shape immediately after giving birth because not
everyone has the luxury of doing that. And again, that's totally acceptable.

Meet Julie
This is Julie Bhopal, a lovely nutritional consultant from New
Zealand who has given birth to two wonderful children. To show that it is okay
to show the scars of pregnancy, she started documenting the changes for 14
weeks.
It's scary,
but it's normal
Julie assured women, especially those who do not yet have
children or who are pregnant, that the effects of pregnancy can be disgusting,
but it is real and should not be feared at all. After 24 hours, a mother would
feel that there is still a large lump inside her, and even after two days,
immense blood clots still come out, which is normal.
After two
weeks
After fourteen days, Julie felt more alive than after giving
birth that made her so tight. His belly has become smaller, though it still
shows. She describes a period of bleeding that never ends, but she can finally
get out of her pajamas to wear pregnancy clothes.
After 14
weeks
After more than three months, Julie has officially escaped
the newborn phase of giving birth. She now feels more human than an
uncomfortable zombie, although she is left with the signs of motherhood - which
are normal. The "flat" belly still has stretch marks, but it's fine.
You can not
run a marathon
Julie may not be able to survive or complete a marathon
anymore, but today she's in a marathon to look after her two kids who are
absolutely delicious and definitely worth their time and attention.
A mother is
amazing
A mother may never look like a supermodel, but that's not a
problem and that should not make women feel bad about themselves. Instead of
focusing on physical appearance, a mother is better to appreciate the gift of
motherhood and what matters inside - the happiness and triumph of having a
family.
