anorexia in high school to being overweight when she became pregnant with her
first child. She explains that her body went crazy.
"I used to go days without food.I fainted innumerable
times and was hospitalized twice and had a feeding tube.When I found out that I
was expecting my first child, he finally gave me permission to eat what I
wanted. Weight would fall once I had my son, but he did not.
That's when the real problem began. When she gave birth to
her son, she weighed 235 pounds. But the breaking point occurred when he
learned of problems with his blood pressure. Rachel pushed the red alert button
and said enough.
He did not have the energy to play with his son, and that
hurt more. She reviewed her ego and weight and downloaded a calorie counting
app on her smartphone. Focusing on healthy, balanced meals gave him an edge. On
top of that, she started exercising five times a week.
