Many women in American and European countries have begun this popular trend of putting cabbage leaves on their breasts. Cabbage leaves are used to reduce breast inflammation and relieve the pain and discomfort that breastfeeding can cause. It is also very useful for calming the pain and stress caused by the use of an uncomfortable bra. Researchers do not know if there is a property inside the cabbage itself that helps decrease pain and swelling, or if the swelling is reduced because the cabbage leaves are acting as cold compresses.
Either way, studies show that if you are breastfeeding and you put cold cabbage leaves directly on your breasts, it is not only soothing, but it can help decrease your chest pain and swelling.

How to Use Cabbage Leaves to Relax Breasts

1.Put the cabbage is cooler for an hour. Once it is cold, remove the outer layer of the leaves and throw them away. Then pull two of the inner blades to use.
2.Wash these two inner leaves in cold water. You want to be sure that they are clean and free from dirt, pesticides and waste.
3.Cut the stem of the leaves so that it can fit properly on your breasts without covering the nipples.
4.Now, you can place the clean, cold cabbage leaves on your breasts. Wrap the leaves around your chest, but leave the nipples exposed. If you keep the leaves of your nipples, it will help the skin around your nipples to keep it dry and intact.
5.You can leave cabbage leaves on your breasts for about 20 minutes or until hot. Then, remove them from your breasts.
6.Repeat if necessary.

If you are still breastfeeding, or pumping for your baby, and just want to use cabbage leaves to help decrease breast inflammation and relieve breast swelling, you should stop this treatment once you notice that your breasts feel better and The swelling has gone down.
